Costa Rica - 2009 : I visited the Trogon Lodge, Wilson Botanical Gardens and Rancho Naturalista. The Trogon Lodge as well as other hotels in that area, is the best place to see Resplendant Quetzals, I saw as many as 5 males and females in the same tree. Simply breathtaking. The Wilson Botanical Gardens is a splendid place...palms, bromeliads, flowers and lots of birds. The food was very good also. Rancho Naturalista is a birder's paradise.....I spent most of my time taking photos of hummingbirds, trying to get some in flight, but there are plenty of other sights to behold. You will notice many duplicates of the same hummingbirds, different poses, some in flight, some resting. Also, some aren't identified....not sure what they are. If anyone knows, please let me know. Also, if I have named any incorrectly, let me know. Almost all photos were taken directly from the camera, with some sizing and cropping. I only corrected some flash photos for the eye.
